In Quake II, the Jorg is a battle-walker exoskeleton piloted by the Strogg leader, the Makron. The Jorg and the Makron constitute the final boss of Quake II's single-player campaign. After destroying the Communication Laser, Bitterman pursues the Makron to the rooftop of the Palace. The Makron retreats through a teleporter in order to fight the oncoming marine on ground of the Strogg leader's choosing, the Final Showdown. It's here that the final confrontation with the Makron takes place, and the Strogg leader is ready for battle piloting the Jorg. The battle has two stages - once the Jorg is destroyed, the Makron will dismount and fight the player personally.

The Jorg is a huge battle-walker with durability surpassing anything else encountered in Quake II by that point. It is armed with a pair of heavy Chain Guns, and to make matters worse, the Makron can fire his BFG10K from the pilot's seat.

The Jorg and the Makron also comprise the final boss of the Playstation version of Quake II, essentially the same fight as the PC version. Another Jorg and Makron - or Strogg apparently identical to them - are encountered in the Command Center of the mission pack The Reckoning, again being the final boss of the game.

In the 2023 remaster, the Jorg's health is increased from 3000 to 8000. To compensate for this, an additional Quad Damage is available in the Inner Chamber that wasn't present in the original game, just before the player uses the teleporter.

Behaviour and attacks

Twin Chain Guns: The Jorg is equipped with a pair of heavy chain guns that can fire a continuous stream of bullets - firing two bullets at once, with each bullet dealing 6 damage per hit. They can be dodged if the player strafes consistently.

BFG10K: The BFG10K projectile deals 200 damage on impact if it strikes the player, but during its flight it also fires small laser beams at nearby targets, so can harm the player even if it does not score a direct hit. Therefore it is not enough to merely dodge the projectile or duck behind cover; to avoid taking damage, the player must put a large amount of distance between the projectile and themselves.
